Mat Pilates is performed on the floor using your body weight for resistance, and may or may not include small props. While Reformer Pilates is a Pilates Sessions conducted on a specialized machine called a Reformer that was invented by Joseph Pilates. Mat Pilates is generally more accessible and can be done anywhere, while Reformer Pilates offers more variety in exercises and can provide additional support or challenge depending on your needs.

Pilates primary focus is rehabilitation, by teaching the client to recruit and hold engagement of their deep stabilizing muscles to improve posture and functional movement, whilst toning, strengthening, and improving flexibility.
